When it's not bright enough to get a decent shot in your own back garden, you know it's time to give up.
Ventured out to Marshside this afternoon in the hope that the light would improve, but it didn't, and the old place held the usual suspects. mer1811.jpg Nice damp Merlin on Marshside Two, just a bit far off for decent shots in the gloom, with GBBs marauding Wigeon and Teal and Little Egrets in the channels.
Reasonable number of waders on Marshside One too.
Over at Mere Sands Wood, more Greater 'Peckers, Tree Sparrows etc and two Goldeneyes on the main water.
Coulda popped up to have a gander at the lovely Waxwings in Preston I suppose, but they should be enjoyed on a bright day, not a dark dark one.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

You should have gone for the Waxwings jd !!! fabulous sight, about 100 in one tree, right by the path !! could have looked better against a bright blue sky, agreed, but a 100 lifers for me, so who's that picky, and some photos too.
