Getting spruced up

Even with a nip still in the air, the Tufted Ducks were getting frisky on Sands Lake today, with small groups of males "speed-paddling" after females and attempting a bit of display this lunchtime.
Not a lot else though folks - 82 Tufties, 8 Shovelers and 3 Pochards was the best of it there.
Few titmice and Blackbirds in the buckthorn.
Less fog, but still pretty murky out over the tide, it may be worth a look tomorrow.
Two dead Badgers washed up on the tide yesterday was different.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies....

Sunday 23rd Jan 2.00pm Female Peregrine flying over Birkdale village heading towards beach.Spooked the local Jackdaws and gulls. New tick for my garden list!

I must remember to add the poetic phrase "Oi arsehole!" to my Ornithological Glossary.

Around 80 Waxwings around junction of Berry Street and Merton Road in Bootle yesterday. They rest in a large tree on the other side of the canal, and fly over to a berry bush at the end of Berry Street (very appropriate).
