There are some people (okay, there are many people) who think Bazzo, Tropical, er Neill and myself should be forced to walk the plank, so they should enjoy the pix above.
Meanwhile perceptive readers of the blog will have noticed in recent weeks that the quality of my entries has been frankly, pants.
The reason for this, of course, is that the four of us have been a bit busy, birding the rainforests of Costa Rica, and as you read this, we are currently making our way home to Blighty.
Assuming of course we haven't succumbed to Bushmasters, Bottflies, Fer De Lance, Poison Dart Frogs or any number of other jungle nasties.
Full reports when I deplane and sort out the jetlag.
Apologies to anyone who has been trying to get in touch - they don't do the internet much in the cloud forest you know.
What have we missed?
Let us know via the "Comments" section pur-lease.
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...
*Pix courtesy of Tropical Thomason, although how he managed to get on one of 'em, while actually taking the photos in deepest darkest Palenque last year is a mystery.

Hi, met you at Kiri & Toucanet Lodges. I look forward to reading about your trip.
I had a look down at Birkdale, Taggs Island area first thing, plenty of Meadow Pipits and waders and at least 5 singing Skylark and 2 Reed Bunting. Nearby in the Selworthy Rd wooded cuttings a Goldcrest was singing away which was nice. I later went to Dam Wood in Scarisbrick, somewhere i've not been for a long time. It's changed somewhat in recent years, a house built further down the road from the footpath, the woods either side of the path are now fenced off yet birdwise it was still great. No Lesser Peckers like we had back in the mid 90s but Treecreeper, 2 or 3 Nuthatches, Goldcrest, 3+ Siskin, Great Spotted Pecker, 2 Jays, Buzzard, plenty of the 4 regular Tits and common finches, Mistle Thrush etc. A feeding station in the garden of the house on the far side of the wood, down the footpath was packed with birds including Siskin and Nuthatch. Martin Mere held the usual including plenty of Brambling, we didn't see the Smew today but it is around still. 10 Corn Buntings and Little Owl on Churchtown Moss on the way home finished things off nicely.
