Thanks to Phil Boardman for these great shots of the Little Swift at New Brighton - I really should have found the time to pop over and see it, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
Sources with far better memories than me have reminded me that it was the Netherfield, Notts bird I saw snoozing on a railway bridge before zooming around our heads back in 2001 - far too long ago.
Caught up with the tubby wonder in Spain and North Africa too, but New Brighton would have been nice.
Best make do with Phil's shots from yesterday...
And thanks to Ron Jackson for sending me a link to his wonderful videos from a recent trip to Brazil - you can watch the full playlist on YouTube here.
Bare throated Bellbird - what a star!
Eyes to the skies everyone, eyes to the skies...

Very quiet out on Carr and Plex mosses yesterday, other than the swarms of Swallows and Swifts.
I paid a visit to Haskayne Cutting later and, despite the thick foliage I got superb views of a Chiffchaff doing its thing incessantly less than ten feet away from me.
I also came across a similarly confident Wren glaring at me from a bush within touching distance.
Very accommodating.
It's great to get such close up views (I usually flush them and get the briefest of glimpses).
Hi Kev - glad you enjoyed Haskayne Cutting.
Sometimes it's easy to forget that many of our songbirds are still tight on territory at this time of year, so you don't want to crowd 'em too much.
Good birding buddy...
I only had a look at my clips of the Monty's Harrier yesterday (not very good) and decided to upload.
Had hoped for another opportunity but presumably now not on.
