Excellent find by Phil Smith this afternoon (looks like I picked the wrong day to take the youngsters out shrimping on the low tide!!!)...over to the man himself:
This afternoon, 15.00-15.30 hrs, I found an immature Lapland Bunting at the southern end of the New Green Beach and on the Newest Green Beach, north of Ainsdale-on-Sea. Three decent views on the deck at c. 20m and classic flight calls.
I even managed to get a long-range photo (attached) when it perched up briefly.
It was with two Wheatears for a while, scuttling around on the ground.
